Looking for a bulb for my ParkLiner

Hello Folks!

Seems ParkLiner uses 2 #1144 MINIATURE BULB BA15D BASE - 12.8 Volt 1.98 Amp RP-11 Double Contact (DC) Bayonet (BA15D) Base C-2R Filament Design. 400 Average Rated Hours, 2.1" Maximum Overall Length.

Im looking for a LED replacement for them that aren't like $20 a bulb if I can avoid it lol... at that price I would throw the money towards a solar panel to keep the batteries charged lol. Im figureing there has to be another more common similar bulb at a better price.

thanks

I see BA15D base LED bulbs on eBay, but not in the 1144 size. Is there room for a larger bulb, like a 1157?

deryk, I went the route of buying a whole bunch of LED bulbs that spec'd out not too bad from an eBay seller. I think I paid not much more than $30 for 10, plus they threw in 2 others for free. They were not near as bright as the incandescent bulbs that were in there already. I tried a couple a friend had bought from www.superbrightleds.com for $15 each, and they were just as good as the originals, or better. These were a wedge type, but they are available in bayonet mount too. I would highly recommend them, regardless of going with solar, or not.

Jim raises a good point - make sure you check the Lumens (Brightness) ratings on what ever you buy. They tend to be all over the map.

Yeah, since I dont know much about led brightness lumens are all I have to go by to get an idea of which could be better then the other. Tim Wood, another ParkLiner owner is going to check his... the other suggestion I have is a different lightfixture with an led that is more easily gotten...its nice haveing options lol

thanks

Lightbulb

On LED replacement...i've basically gone from bumper to hitch in our 38ft 5'ver and replaced all that i could. My two fav shops on line are the before mentioned Super Bright Leds store and SailorSams.com. The fun thing about SS is that they don't just have LEDs...they have some cool Marine/RV hardware, appliances, and other goodies.

LEDs are well worth the $$...not having the heat buildup in the fixture and cool-to-touch feature is tops on my list for their _cool_ factor

Well I should know this weekend if the led's I bought off of ebay were the right ones. I still want to replace a few light fixtures, and add at least 2 more. Something in brass to add some class!
