Power inverter on 1980 play mor 2

I have a question about the power inverter on 1980 play mor 2. It is the one that came with camper.Does it have a battery charger built-in it? Does anyone know if it will charge the battery while being plugged into a outlet?

I suspect you have a converter, not an inverter. An inverter in an RV takes 12 volt DC power and turns it into 120 volt AC. A converter takes 120 volt AC and converts it to DC. Your equipment most likely will charge your battery, but many of the older units are not very efficient. If you have a new battery an charge in incorrectly you will ruin the battery. The technology we have today is much better than it was 35 years ago.

After 25 years it's only a guess as to what you have and what it will do. Look at it and post the make and model number and you will get some feedback.

Sorry for not posting that info. I have a B-W manufacturer 6015 power system. I was told that I would have to replace it. Do you know what I can replace it with? Thanks

As I oft mention, the Progressive Dynamics PD-4045 is the perfect power center replacement for FGRV. It incorporates an ac distribution/circuit breaker section, a 45 amp converter with 12 fuse positions, and a 3 stage smart charger. I have installed about 7 of them without a single problem or complaint.

They can be found on-line for less than $175.00.

Gotta agree. PD4045, put one in my Boler. All wiring to one location and it works perfectly.

PD-4045 Sources

First: Try Frank Bear at teardroptrailerparts.com. If it's not on the website, call them and ask for Frank, and tell him what you want.

Also Vintage Trailer Supply - parts and supplies for vintage travel trailers and campers! is currently showing them for $176.00
