Replacement tail light covers for '75 scamp?

Does any place sell replacement tail light covers for a 1975 scamp? It has big rectangular tail lights.

You need to post a picture of the fixture.

I thought the 1975 had the square tail lights... the kind typically used on utility trailers. Rob are you sure the tail lights on your Scamp aren't aftermarket?

Sorry, yes they are square actually. I don't think they are aftermarket because I don't see any work done around them or previous holes but I am not sure 100%.

I will take a pic later and try and post it.

Here is the pic. Now that I looked at them closer I think they are aftermarket. I just wish I knew what taillights these are from so I wouldn't have to replace them both because of a tail light cover.

Definitely aftermarket. Do you see any kind of number on the lens? Maybe you can track it down with that.

Yes I did see a number but unfortunately these are also out of production. I went ahead and just pulled them so I will just change them with round LEDs.

Those are Reflect-O-Lite 710. They were factory on early Bigfoot 17' models. You could probably sells them on eBay. I've not seen any lens for them.

I searched but didn't find anything. I already removed the lights and was thinking about installing those round 7 inch sealed led units that many used on this site. Although I am still debating on it because LEDs sometimes can go bad and with those units I would have to replace the whole thing, so I'm not sure if I should just go with regular housings and use led bulbs instead. It would be much easier to change out should an LED fail.

If you like the lights you have, installing LED bulbs behind them is fine. You can always replace the whole unit later if you should change your mind. From my experience LEDs are pretty much bullet proof.

I can't find allot of stores that stock those 7 inch round led tail lights. And the stores that do stock them charge about $70. I have read that people are buying them for $50 somewhere?

Thanks. I started reading that thread, maybe only half way through though.

Do you know if I should use some type of sealer (gasket/silicone) behind the tail light or running lights so that water doesn't get behind there and follow the wires and screw holes into the camper? I've searched many threads but no mention of anyone doing this, so I'm wondering how they're keeping the water out.
