Shore power without battery?

My new (to me) 13' Scamp has a Progressive Dynamics PD9130 power converter. I've winterized the Scamp, including removing the battery. The power converter manual says that the unit "Operates with or without a battery connected."

Are there any issues with doing that? I'd like to be able to run a 120VAC heater & light when I work on the Scamp on cold winter days, but I don't want to plug in shore power without a battery in place unless other FGRVers say it's safe.

TIA,
… Rick

Just unplug or disconnect AC power to converter, your AC plugs still should work without converter, just not anything DC would work

I'm inclined to believe the manual.

I've run my Parallax 45a converter without a battery without issue.

As stated above I've believe the manual.
You might consider keeping a heater inside all the time. I keep the inside of my Scamp at 45° to 50°F and put a Dri-Z-Air chemical dehumidifier in the sink. This keep things from freezing and the air dry so the mildew doesn't form. It's worked quite well for the past 8 years.

I pull my battery out and keep a heater going at as-low-as-it-can-go. Not an issue.

Thanks Stevebaz - I did that when I removed the battery. Also, as an afterthought, I unplugged the converter. We're expecting snow tonight
