Solar Vent, any experience?

I found a solar vent with a built in light on the home depot site. It seems to be an option used on sailboats? No wiring and no battery draw, and it would work on a rainy day. Thinking in might be a good option, just reluctant to cut a hole in the roof to test.
Anyone have any experience with these?

Interesting, but for $80 you can get a 65 watt solar panel and just use it to run your Fantastic fan.

Solar Cell, Solar Panel, Solar PV, Solar Products, Charge Controllers, Solar Trackers

I installed one of these in my T@da

the reason I did not want the Sunforce was the ability to close this in the winter, which you can not do with the Sunforce. This Vetus also lets in light and air and I was able to fit a 4" plug for winter time. I also installed mine on the side wall vs the roof. Less water leak chances.
