Gray water outlet

Hi Not posted on here but done a lot of reading . I'm having trouble finding a water outlet for my 14' Surfside . Its for the gray water from the sink . Looks the same outside as the city water connection except it has a male thread . Does it have to be male or can I change it to female ??

You could install a female hose connection but the idea behind using a male connection is to eliminate the possibility of connecting the city water to the wrong port.

The water outlet port should be available from any well stocked RV dealership or online. They were used extensively in older small campers, both stickies and fiberglass.

Female RV city water hose connectors have check valves built into them so your internal water system can pressurize the water system with no hose connected. Oren is correct you should be able to get one from your local RV shop or online.

The city water-in and the grey water-out are both the same type on our boler. Adding a lable helps an old mind remember which is which. Since we have repainted the trailer, I now have to remember to relable it someday.

Hey Jim,
Another member recently posted about their new Sea-Dog marine water inlet. When looking up the product, I thought of your post. They make an outlet too, available in both chrome plated brass or cast 316 Stainless steel for a few dollars more! So you can replace both yours with the right fittings to match and not have to rely on the memory.

Sea-Dog Part #'s for reference.
Inlets: Chrome 512110 , SS 513110
Outlets: Chrome 512120, SS 513120

Donna,
You are a couple of years late welcoming Bruce. Maybe you sidetracked looking up things like the Loop and Poop.
Scamp has updated their website since Byron first posted, here is the link to the plastic equivalent: Plumbing : Evacuation Flange Outside Sink Drain

you can buy adapters to change from a male tread to female or vice versa in the hose section of pretty much any hardware store. You can also buy closure caps to put onto the threads of either male or female.
