grey water drain

recently purchased an 05 13 ft. scamp. have a wet-weather creek on property that has a concrete low-water bridge ...got trailer across when brought home, do not know if grey water drain scrapped the concrete.....but a 6 inch piece of metal that previous owner had welded on to bumper did (neighbor said he will remove for me)....anyway, has anyone modified the grey water plumbing and what are some suggestions? Would hate for my scamp to become a permanent fixture on my farm.

Plan to go camping this month and will also be using the scamp out on a pasture during my lambing season in January......

thanks.

Hi Imogene, welcome to FiberglassRV. Are you asking about the valve from the gray water tank? Or the tank itself?

Shoot, I just paid attention to the title! Imogene, you may be able to lift the drain up a bit by cutting off the discharge and adding a new one back closer to the outlet on the tank.

OR, you can add helper wheels on the back of the frame which will lift the frame up when it hits something, like concrete. You'd have to drive slooooow, because it's not intended to lift the entire trailer, just to keep things from scraping. I'll see if I can find a topic that will explain it and post back.

Okay, what I was initially thinking about was something called "skid wheels." I still can't find a topic showing a picture here on FiberglassRV, but here's a link to Camping World: Search - skid wheels - Camping World

Another thought, is to remove the entire axle and weld a 2" bar to the frame and then re-bolt the axle back on. That will raise the entire trailer

This is someone's picture, but you get the idea.

Moving to PRoblem Solving forum, where hopefully some more of our problem solvers will see it. Good luck with it, Imo.
