Trailer: 1999 Burro 17 ft Widebody
Posts: 24
HI All,
My wife and I excited about getting out for our first overnighter in our Burro next weekend!
While I was prepping the trailer, I noticed that there was no toilet paper holder in the combo toilet-shower. Not that we're planning on using the shower, but it got me thinking.

I'd appreciate any advice, tips, hints. etc. on how to mount and store a toilet paper roll in a combo toilet shower. I'm thinking suction cups or something. I found a marine toilet paper roll holder at Boater's World, but $23 for a plastic box with an overbite seems really steep.

You're advice has been really, really helpful, and I hope to share some ideas to add to the mix some time soon!

Steve,
We got one from West Marine for $25.00. Riveted it on to the wall opposite from the john. Works great. Tip up lid provides access, when down, the roll is totally out of any water source. Don

We attached the toilet paper roll holder to the wall... The shower curtain keeps it dry.

We also keep a spare roll in a CD plastic case - fits perfect.

Someone on the prehacked forum suggested using a TALL Recordable CD Pack holder...one of those holders that you purchase with 100+ blank CDs. If you don't burn your own CDs...check with your friends and neighbors!

If you have your TP on a typical roller gizmo, be sure to squeeze the Charmin before you put it on the roll -- An oval carboard tube won't unroll as easily whilst bumping down the road as a perfectly round one will.

On my 17' Boler the holder is a cheap household one and is mounted on the door and when showering is covered by the shower curtain....Benny

Like Benny, I have mine on the door. I have a small bungie around the holder. When I'm stopped I push it toward the door allowing the roll to move freely. When traveling, I pull it toward the roll and it keeps it from unrolling. A rather nifty and easy mod if I do say so myself.

Since I have a portapotti, I keep my TP in a medium-sized coffee can so I can also carry it in the rain or whatever to the CG potties.

I went to WalMart and purchased a chrome Over-the-Door TP Holder for less than $10 and it works great. You can hang it to put the TP inside the Shower or outside the Shower.

I have installed several of these in trailers and motorhomes:
http://www.amazon.com/EZ-Load-Toilet.../dp/B004GPG3XI
Usually less than $10 at RV stores.

EZ to load and the top flap protects the paper and keeps it from unrolling when travelling.

There is also a YouTube demo if you Google the name.

This works great and stays dry...simply remove the core and dispense the TP through the lid from the center of the role.

I use a 2 lt plastic soda bottle with the lid. The tail of the TP pokes up through the neck of the bottle and I can put the cap on to keep it dry. Am using the same container I made 20 years ago for Girl Scout camping.

I picked this up at Walmart and modified it
for my Snoozy. Like Jim said.

Toilet Paper Holder

We haven't used the shower yet, but we
can easily remove the paper before using
the water.

Outfitting our Scamp....today at Walmart I bought a toilet brush with a holder for $ 3.88. I can't find it on line, but the spindle fits into a groove of the cover which covers the area the brush is stored, and the spindle above the brush is thin and long enough that we can put a toilet paper roll on that. We sat the brush/holder next to the toilet. It's not in the way and handy. I was looking for ideas earlier, so thought I'd pass this one along.
