Toilet Repair

I think we have the original toilet...the yellow matches the gel coat inside the trailer except, of course, for what thirty years of use has done to the color. It looks like a tall portapotty.

Apparently, you pump the water into the bowl, do your dooty and then push a lever that opens the flap that lets the contents empty into the collection portion of the toilet. There's no separate waste holding tank..it's part of the toilet.

I've tried to upload a picture of the part that's broken. It's the rubber seal on the pump plunger that is used to bring the water into the toilet.

Manual

Hi
We have a 75 Trillium with the original porta-potty and the manual with complete parts list for the potty. Most of the parts for it can be bought off the shelf at all RV shops. There is nothing that looks like what you have. Possibly its the difference in years.

Can you post a picture of the whole toilet?
Nancy

Garden sprayer

Taoward, that looks very similar to the guts of one of the old tank-type garden sprayers. (Hudson is/was one of the manufacturers.) Could it be that part is interchangeable with a garden sprayer's seal? You might check a local hardware or garden supply store, because they usually have kits for those sprayers--that's the part that wears out on them. I know it's a long shot, but maybe!

Thanks, Y'all. We checked Camper's World and they had nothing. That's the only camping store we ''newbies'' know.

Taoward,

If the hardware store doesn't pan out, as suggested above, you might also look at marine supply, since many boats also have some kind of portable toilet.

Good luck with it. I'm going to go look at my old West Marine catalog and see if there's anything remotely similar...

That looks to me like a porta-potty that someone has converted to semi-permanent. The gold part looks like a normal 70's era potty but the plumbing definately looks added on.

If all else fails, keep a bucket of water handy for flushing.
