Where to buy Shurflo fittings?

Does anyone know where to buy the actual branded shurflo fittings in-store? Every place online wants $5-$10 shipping for a $2 part. I've called everywhere, hardware stores, boat stores, an RV dealer and no one has them.

I didn't even ask. The RV shop by me is kind of a hole in the wall, the lady didn't know what butyl tape was until I described it.

LOL I hear you had a similar situation at a so called hitch shop today...

Do you have any large RV dealers near you? Most will have a parts department that should be able to help you .... but to be honest sometimes they charge far higher prices making it work your time just to buy the item needed on line and pay the shipping (and in my case the exchange rate).

Shipping rates for all carriers (USPS, UPS, Fedex, DHL) have all skyrocketed over the last 4 years since they incremented volumetric pricing where the shipper has to pay for the empty cubic inches in the box.

Everything I make is very light but takes up a fair amount of space; my shipping costs for the same item have more than doubled. Same item, same box.

Frequently the shipping is more expensive than the part.

I had always been reluctant to pay shipping charges but that has changed over the years. One Saturday I went to 3 specialty retailers looking for something. None of them had the needed item in stock. I probably spent $5 on gasoline and wasted 3 hours of my life trying to avoid a 4 or 5 dollar shipping charge. Never again.

Rob, kind of throwing me a loop for Shurflo fittings. What kind of parts are you looking for? Might want to try Ebay, if you have the part number it's pretty easy.

The fittings for the ShurFlo pump are a standard 1/2" FIP, the same as the supply water connection to faucets. I use these braided steel line for my pump connection, the 1/2" FIP connects to the pump and the other end is a 3/8" compression which you can use to join to either flex or hard water lines.

The minimum cost for parcel post from USPS has now jumped to $2.80 cents and that is for a package that weighs up to 9 ounces. By the time you add in the weight of a box you would likely be over that amount.

The days of inexpensive shipping are gone for good.
