We agree with your schedule of priority and have place the suspension and axle at the top of the list. Some leaks have created some minor mold issues that we are already dealing with and I have removed the dinette to get at the wet carpet and areas that seem to be leaking to remediate those issues.

There are several issues that will be addressed in turning "The Skank" back into The Scamp" that we had in our dreams when we moved to buy this little beauty.

The idea of bite sized pieces of this project are of course poetically just because of it's size as well as our ability to grasp the different tasks. It's been a while since I worked at Bass Master Boats near Lake Herrington, KY but I have worked in fiber glass a little and am not afraid of any task or chore. This will be fun and we will enjoy hitting the road as soon as the weather turns. See you soon...

Ian, thanks for the reply. We are getting into this reno and working toward making our Skanky Scamp usable again.

The more we get into this project the more we feel as if we've been taken advantage of by the seller. We are torn between a frame-off renovation like you've completed and finding a balance fixing what's required just to put it back on the road so we can have the experience of Scamping to know if it's something we are going to love.

We look forward to sharing our experiences and value your opinion as a experienced member of this forum. There are lots of decisions to make about what to fix when and priorities that we have to set as we progress. Stay tuned, because, as you know, things are about to get CrAzy...

Hi Ian,
We are big fans of your "kitchen reno" entire Boler redo. We are redoing a scamp and are wondering about interior roof supports which we know we need. Rather than making the wood supports and gluing in as you have done, we wonder if it would work to use the upper cabinets manufactured by scamp in each end of our trailer. These cabinets have been removed and our scamp is losing its shape. Interested in your opinion. Thanks so much. Laura & Bill
