Thrifty Bill: I have a question I hope you can answer. I'm still trying to figure out whether my PD4135 is functioning properly before finding out on a trip. As I said in my previous thread, I recently took the first trip since the PD4135 was installed and arrived 2 hours later to find out that the trailer battery was pretty dead and I had no lights in the trailer. Back home I checked the 7 pin connector- vehicle side to find the power wire was very poorly connected. Now I'm finding that when the trailer is connected to shore power in my garage, there's no voltage at the trailer battery wires (when they're off the battery). That's not right- is it? The battery is supposed to be charging on shore power- right?

We did have scale weight of under 2000 lbs. and tongue weight of 198 lbs. with full propane, old battery and empty water and grey tanks. Will get current weight as soon as possible, we have made a lot of changes since then with our rebuild and it will have put on a little weight. Can still take propane tanks off and pick up tongue walk it around on level ground.

Hi Thrifty Bill, I have a question if you are not too swamped. I took the belly band off my 75 Ventura. There are screws above the seam all the way around, some are not catching on to anything. Should I remove them all before I put on filler? There is a little bit of give in the top part and bottom part in some areas right above and below the seam line when I push down, almost like I need a screw to secure them tightly. And it looks like I have a little bit of fibreglass repair work on the corners, the gap is probably close to a half inch, would you recommend reinforced fibreglass filler for a gap that large? Thanks for any advice, you seem to be an expert. Sonny

    Hi Thrifty Bill,

Whenever this pandemic is over, I would love to come and see your Trillium. It looks like a very nice unit.

My wife and I also like to go out west. I am an amateur astronomer,so we have been to the Okie-Tex Star Party in Kenton,OK twice and to the Rocky Mountain Star Stare in Colorado southwest of Denver once.

I have debated purchasing a fiberglass RV. We currently use a tent. Sometimes I think it would be nice to be able to cook and sleep inside and have an inside bathroom.

These are nice dreams. However, we have family obligations which are not going to allow for any long distance trips for the forseeable future. Still nice to look, however. Danny Lineberger

Bill, I’ve tent camped for years. Haven’t found a tent that doesn’t leak through the roof or walls. Even had the floor fill with water. My wife and I used to tent. She has Parkinson’s somtrips now are not possible. Suggestions for a dryntent and onenthat is large enough for a cot. Thanks...just in case I can get away for a day or two.

Sheesh! now I'm worried!! I didn't know about belly band leaks, nor that the undercarriage could be so compromised. I'll check them out, though I'm not sure how to check the belly band . . .

Try driving a 30'MH with a 3700# toad on the back makes us about 55' long but my wife still thinks she is in a Nascar Race and does just fine without me or my help in driving this thing. Only time she wants me to help is to back into tough places and I do this with one eye and side mirrors now.
