I need a set of door hinges as pictured. Triple E says none in stock for many years (funny, the trailer is only 29 years old 8-) Has anyone found a source of suitable replacements?

Take a look around this sight.
The page it opens to is I think the Burro hinge.

Additional research has resulted in my looking for heavy duty strap hinges. There are many versions. The originals were chromed brass - which I can still find, however, stainless is a lot less spendy. (like $31 vs. $6) Any thoughts on which is stronger or more durable

In my opinion, if I was using common strap hinges, I`d go with the stainless just for the sake of the toughness of the stainless.......but I would do more research on getting thicker hinges like some marine hardware.....there should be some real nice weather resistant marine stuff around.....after looking at your pics, if you have both hinges, can`t you repin them with a slightly larger pin?.....Benny

Re-pinning is a good idea, Benny. When I tried to drift out the old pin, I did not support the bottom hinge arm, and it cracked. It's new hinge time. 8-(

Too bad that it broke....would have saved a lot of trouble if it hadn`t....well, good luck in your venture...Benny

I ended up with the stainless steel hinges, specifically: http://www.seachoice.com/productdetail/Pro...l.asp?pid=75813 which are available through marine stores. The 6 inch hinge was an exact length and hinge point replacement, although the holes did not match. I filled the old holes with epoxy and toothpicks, then drilled new holes for the hinges. Works great.
