It's been a few years since I cleaned the roof of my Bigfoot and the fiberglass has those typical black stains especially on the roof. I've seen commercial cleaning agents (Zep mildew remover) and wondered if they work and how much I would need since the little squirt bottle hardly seems enough. I also wonder if there is a home made product that would be as effective. I don't like the idea of taking it off with a brillo pad or other such abrasive material.

And then treatment afterwards. A few years ago it was recommended to use a coat of Perdol (sic). Is that still the most effective treatment?

Cheers,

Try Boraxo, the laundry stuff, and a scrub brush.
It cleaned the black mildew off a Scamp I bought that had been parked under a tree for 2 years.
