Tow package

I had the Tundra, and think the engine was actually 4.6 Litre. And on the towing, Toyota is more worried about extreme turns and hitting the corner of the trailer on the side of the truck. There is...

Buying out of state.

I have done this many times. Go to a bank in Pa that is a branch of your bank. Get the check from the bank in front of the seller. Have the title and bill of sale notarized at the bank. Everybody is...

The easy way to figure this out is to hook up the trailer. Jackknife it to the max. Have somebody watch for you!!! Then take a tire and position is in various positions to see what fits. Easy Peasy...

Frame and axle

You have the hard part done. That is removing the trailer from the frame. My suggestion is to replace the axle and frame, using state of the art axles and a heavier duty frame. Those frames were...

Why water leaks into a garage.

Ah that this would be so... the threshold of a garage has the lip to keep driven and gravity fed rain from entering the garage. True, the garage floor should also be sloped, but the astrigal of a...

Pre War???

Being one of the "pre-war" kids, "pre-war" always refers to WWII. Period. Where the greatest generation saved us from being ruled by foreigners. Well, maybe we will be ruled that way from within...

Clear coating

Your car is clear coated, no matter the brand. Some of the clear coats last 40 years. Depends on how much UV they are subject to.

Downshifting on the downhills

I think the OP was talking about going down the slopes, not up. The danger in overspeed in downhills is the trailer will push and on curves, tends to push the rear end out, causing loss of steering...

Nest / AS issues

In a dealership organization, the dealer is tasked with repairs, warranty and non-warranty. The Company (AS) will compensate the dealer for their work. I would get a dealer that will help you get the...

How easy the truck is to maneuver in town depends on the model. If it is a full 4 door with 8 ft bed, tough. If is it a 2 door with a 8'box, that is the same size as a 4 door shortbed. But, in any...

Dealers don't want you to use air bags.

Look under most commercial 18 wheel trailers and you will see airbags. Dealers don't want to fool with the bags, but I have used them on tow vehicles for the past 50 years, and never had a problem....

Yes, I totally agree with the above. I bought a Casita 10 years ago and only inspected the undercarriage after I bought it. When I realized that it appeared to me to be undersized, I could not wait...

Again, after more than 70 years of "camping", everything Roger H says is true. But remember, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Do your homework for what works for you. BTW, the best B+ I had...

It all depends on how handy you are and what level of maintenance you do as to how much it will cost. I have never lost more than $1500 in selling a MH over what I paid. Of course, I always buy used....

I know that there are a lot of answers with advice here, but I want to make an observation. If you ask a carpenter for his favorite tool, it will be a hammer, and so on a plumber will be a wrench....

I had a 2007 Tundra and rue the day I ever sold it. It was absolutely the best pickup I ever had, driven, or rode in. Get a vintage V6, 2 wd, 4 door and you will never regret it.
