Our '79 Scamp 16' had a 2200# axle. I replaced it with a 3500# Dexter torflex derated to 2400#. I wanted the heavier bearings and larger brakes.

Dexter has an axle order form which shows all measurements required to order a new axle.

We just got a '79 Scamp, outside was chalkie. Lisa scrubed it with Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser and buffed it with 3M Marine Restorer wax and it looks like new!
