I plugged an outlet tester in our 1987 17.5 bigfoot and it read open ground.

Everything seems to be working on 12 volt and the outlet is working. Do I have a problem?

That's a good idea and I'll bring some surplus items we have. At Smore's everybody sat out tables at their sites and offered items for sale. good way to make new friends also.
