We aren't sure why the tranny was giving us problems. We picked it up last year in Montana & hauled it with the honda back to Az via Idaho, Washington, Oregon & California with no problems.
This year we were heading back to Washington State & about 100 miles south of Flaggstaf, AZ we had the problem. It was in the middle of a hot day, but still shouldn't of happened. We take excellent care of our vehicle & just had a tuneup, etc. Driving up through a mountain climb as we go about a quarter of the way up the hill, the van just lost power & started to slow down. I pulled to the side of the road & noticed something was leaking. Called AAA & got towed into Flagstaff trailer & all. The next day the Honda dealer couldn't find anything wrong, but said the van really isn't meant for towing a travel trailer. He said the tranny could be fine or it could give out...he couldn't say. Since we were on the road for the summer, we couldn't chance another breakdown...especially since we were going theough desert & a lot of climbing. At any rate, we opted to trade in the van while it was running well. We found a Ford 150 v8 & since we are looking at getting a larger trailer thought it a good choice.
We do see plenty of smaller vehicles pulling the
fiberglass trailers, so you might be ok. Hope that helps with your question.
