Ok, Here I go! I have had my fiberglass rv for about 8 years, and I got it from my Grandma. She had it for approx. 6years I think. I was so happy to have it, but the colors Grandma put in it were horrible, turquoise wood trim, and pink cushions. So, last year I gutted the inside and went with a Maroon color cushion, tan with muted green trim. Its got a Cabin theme. So cute, and home like. You might notice I took out the Ice box and made a shelf for a cooler. Here are some pictures.

Hey Cyndi, nice looking trailer! Did you by chance get a title with the trailer? I'm only asking because it looks exactly like a Havasu... see the Havasu album here

I have no title.
Its a '72 and it does look just like those on that Havasu album.
I'm learning as I go, so bear with me here.

Thanks Jim!
I got the colors and theme idea from a bathroom collection at a local Shopko.
The curtains are the shower curtain chopped to fit. I don't have as much sewing ability as my cousin Jenpb as she put the cushion covers with zippers. I sewed big fabric envelops then hand stitched them closed. When mine get dirty I guess I'll have to cut them off to wash.

Heya Cousin Cyndi! Glad to see you made it here. For the record, while I did manage to make my own curtains (with lots of advice from the nice ladies at the fabric store) and cushion covers, I gave up on zippers. Instead, I put velcro closures. SUPER simple! When you have to clean yours, Cyndi, give me a ring (BEFORE you cut) and we'll add closures to yours by replacing one long panel (on the back, against the wall).

Cyndi failed to mention that her reconditioning involved more than a housewarming; she also repaired leaking windows and made other fixes that were long overdue.

Yes, I did take out all the windows and reseal them, along with replaceing the screens so they can be opened with not bug intruders. There was a lot of water damage inside from the leaking windows. Mostly just bubbled paint, but some wood veneer had buckled on the cabinets so that had to be replaced. I want to put the drawer sliders in like jenpb just did. And a water hand pump for the sink. I better hurry, its going to get cold (colder) here soon.

Hey, Cyndi - Cool trailer. Thanks for posting. Rather than leave all these good comments languishing in the Show Us Your Rigs topic, I pulled them out for all to see. Your Havasu is pretty rare...

Welcome!

I love the idea of replacing the icebox with a shelf for the cooler but I'm not sure structurally it would work on a Campster (without the solid top.) Steve, you are reading this, I'm sure, what do you think? Would it work on Cory's Compact?

The old ice box was so riddled with mildew and after cleaning it, still had the bad smell, so out it went. Plus side is that the cooler can be packed in and out full. I use a bungee cord to keep it up there when traveling. All though it did take a lot of shopping to find an ice chest that was the right size.

Hi,
I just bought me exactly the same trailer you got. It is a Havasu from 1974, 12 Foot. Needs some work but looking forward to it. It's gonna be my summer project.

What I can see so far, it needs:
- Window screen
- Paint
- New laminate floor

You did a great job. Did you fix the window screens yourself?

Thanks

Cyndi,

Would you have a picture of your setup with your cooler now?
I have a Havasu also, and was thinking about doing the same thing.
Thanks
