Uhaul stove

Hey guys! I'm currently remodeling a 1986 UHaul camper which my sister dubbed the Tater Tot. I have a love/hate relationship with this thing because of the endless oddities I have encountered. The latest is this odd non-functional connection on the stove top. Could one of you please upload a picture of what a functioning stove top connection looks like? I have propane working up to this connection so Im very close to having a working stove. For the record, I inherited the stove this way! Thanks!

All I can see is the usual flare fitting on the gas line and the one burner control knob. Which part are you referring to

Looks a lot like a pilot light or something like it to me.

How about posting the make and model of the stove then perhaps someone might know what to post back in so far as what theirs looks like.

Thanks for your replies! The problem with this connection is there's a gaping hole in it. Ive upoaded another pic. This range was made by Vitreous Steel Products. Im just curious what a functioning stove looks like in the area of this connection.

If you click on the Document Center link on the left hand side and go down to trailers - under the U-Haul's there is a manual for the Vitreo safari Stove top.

Propane refrigerator burners also have a gap...

Looks like the tube from the gas orifice at the burner control to the burner itself. That gap or hole is normal. Some stoves have a "shutter" there to adjust the air flow which controls how the flame burns. I took our Uhaul stove out and it's stored in my barn. I could pull it out and take some pictures if you need more info.
