[QUOTE=frank_a;554189]This is if I have to quit work because of it right Bob?

Right Frank, if you're disabled and can't work. Hope there is a solution in the near future for you

I am sorry as well Frank to hear about the TN. I looked it up, sounds awful.

Hope you are able to get back to work soon, as you say you enjoy it and you also need to save up for that new Escape, right?

Adrian

Anyways, here ya go folks...

Looks nice Frank. Just be careful and not spend more on the "T1-11" than you would the original carport siding should you decide to drop the west side portion. At least with the metal siding, there's no maintenance.

Get well soon!

T1-11 is not too expensive, plus seems to last a long time with barn rd paint on it. Gonna see how the shadows go anyways.

Was doing good until about 10 this morning, then everything went to you-know-where in a handbasket! Grrrr. Called the doc a bit after 9 cause he wanted to know how I did through the weekend, and still waiting on a call back. Pain gets real tiresome.

Boy can i relate.... I suffered for years with the same issue..... Fast forward and it was determined that i had an arachnoid cyst in one of the ventricles in my brain (commonly called water on the brain).... It required immediate surgery to relieve the excess fluid..... I now have ( this is my 3rd) shunt to drain it into my stomach cavity.... Bottomline thanks to my wife's insistent research etc my problem was finally diagnosed properly.... Best if luck and hoping you feel better

Thanks Alan. Got an appointment with a neurologist for 3:30. We'll see how it goes.

Day started out great, then went down hill quick. Glad my doc came through with this appointment for me. Maybe now I'll find something out!

Take care,

Frank

Neurologist I saw late today prescribed carbamazepine. Suggested it is almost considered diagnostic for trigeminal neuralgia. I.e., if it works, that's what you got. Folks have varying reactions to it, but most say they find some relief within 24 hours. I took one tonight, then will start 2/day tomorrow. Doc also wants an MRI of my head.

We'll see how it goes Pat. Thanks for thinking of me!

Frank

An mri and a cat scan both with and without contrast is what was ultimately used to diagnosis my hydrocephalus condition
Good luck
Hope you get to the root cause

Hang in there Frank!
It may take awhile. I had an MRI of my head several years ago. I'm still waiting to find out if they found anything!? Current evidence would suggest otherwise.

Thanks all. With luck the drug will work short term, the MRI will get approved by our insurance company and I can get back to life!

Hope our insurance company comes through Frank.

If they determine that it is Trigeminal Neuralgia I feel for you, have a good friend that suffered for a couple of years with it. First they tried various drugs and nothing seemed to work well, then they were going to go in for something called Radiosurgery which is not very invasive and usually works but has a high probability of the problem returning. Their specialist in the end convinced them to go with a surgery that involved drilling a hole into their scull - sorry don't recall all the details of that approach or what it was called. A higher risk surgery but also a higher return on actually fixing the problem. My friend is very happy they went with the later surgery in the end as they have been pain free for six years now and it is unlikely the problem will return.

Bottom line is hang in there, as there is a fix.

Thanks Carol. Yes, if we can get the insurance company to approve the MRI, and they can find the pressure point, it's called MVD surgery. Sign me up! I would much rather do that and be done, then take these drugs for years.

This problem has kept me out of work since a week ago Monday. Until these attacks stop, I can't risk driving 22 miles to work, let alone being so far from home and drugs to have an attack and then not be able to even drive home. Plus I can't wash my hair or forehead or even touch my left eye without excruciating pain. On top of that, it's hard to sleep. It's 1:20 and it woke me up!

We'll see how this new drug does for now, and hope the MRI gets approved.

Frank

Just so y'all know, this is my first day back to work since Thursday, Ocotber 8. I am not "out of the woods" yet, but have not had a trigeminal neurological attack in over 24 hours. Still a bit dingy, and sensitive to light in my left eye. It's watering now, but I cannot wipe it out or rub it. Grrrr!
