Howdy from Alberta Canada - Surfside Triple E

Hello from the great white north!

We recently traded a large RV for the Surfside Triple E. I don't know much about it yet, the winter settled in before I could do much (ie. right now it is -30C outside). I am plotting and scheming though, and glad to have found this site! It does need a fair amount of work: broken windows, shag carpet, crooked door, etc. Everything else seems to be there...

Right now I'd be interested in advice/thoughts/suppliers/companies that work on the windows.

Will start wandering through the site for goodies, etc! I have the owners manual, but would love some hints/tips on getting this mysterious 160+ page operator manual.

Thanks!!!
Christina

A few trailers I previouly owned needed glass repairs, most glass companies can make a glass for you. You can make a cardboard template or provide the dimensions if square or rectangular. They will also need a thickness you may have a small piece left in seal or take a measurement. It may take a few weeks as they may have to order the glass in to be cut.

A great online resource is vintagetrailersupply. They have a lot of weatherstripping etc that can’t be found elsewhere.

Also check out these guys, they are in Edmonton https://www.instagram.com/surfside.life.love

Pics!

Hello! Nope, not the front kitchen model. The guy I got it from said 1973. The kitchen is on the side across from the door.

Thanks for the advice!

Once the weather gets a bit warmer I will start making a list of 'minimum requirements' to have it secure and ready to roll.

Here are some photos! Or, a photo. Not sure how to add multiples...

Edit: photo not attached. Apologies while I figure this out. It seems I may have to provide a dropbox type url.

If you are smartphone equipped I would suggest using the fiberglassrv app. It’s way more user friendly when it comes to posting etc.

Hey Map, my wife and I just got our hands on a surfeside! I am committed to a frame off restoration, it was in OK shape but the Windows had been left open for the last 5 years and there were some issues like rotting floor and mood and what not... lots of work ahead of us but I was curious on your trailer did you keep the ensolite? Or did you get some new "insolation" for lack of a better word.??

Is this vinyl-faced or just the plain Ensolite? I found a couple of places that had just plain Ensolite without facing.

Hi Christina.
I am in the RV Service business in the Calgary area and use a few companies for window and glass work.
The best one I feel is Crystal Glass on Center St At around 12th ave.
I take the window to them and they work their magic. They call to pickup and I pick it up and reinstall.
Have used them for years and they have done a great job!
Good luck in your Reno!

It is hard to beat Ensolite for this application. If you can save it, that would be best. Being totally synthetic, it is not affected by mold.
