I have a 16' Fiber Stream and I'm looking at replacing the leaf Springs and Equalizer bars.

Thanks to Fredrick here, I know my springs are 20". So I have two choices in springs, 3 or 4 leaf. Interestingly enough the 3 leaf units are 1500# and the 4 leafs are 1000#.

The Fiber Stream is shown as weighing 1,667#. I'd like a smooth ride.

Are these rating per leaf or per axle?

Any experience available?

Thanks,
Steve

Unhappy

I replaced my springs with 3-leaf, 20 inch spring sets rated at 1500 pounds per wheel, because that was the only option I was presented with from the retailer I ordered them from. The original spring sets were 4 leaf units where each leaf was thinner than the replacement units. 1500 x 4 = 6000 pounds of suspension capacity.

The trailer rides the same on the new springs as it did on the old springs; bouncy! The only way I see to improve it is to install shocks.

The number of leaves in a spring pile-up is really only for description, not capacity.

If you need any touch up paint for the outside let me know...I found some at work that matches the fiber stream perfectly....
