Trailer: No Trailer Yet
Posts: 65
I just purchased a 1983 Fiber Stream trailer that seems to be in good condition. I am missing a couple of window screens and most of the plastic weep hole inserts for the windows. Does anyone know if you can get the screens or if you can make screens that fit? Also, where to get the weep hole inserts?

I almost did not make it home with my new purchase. The seller was very nice and helped me hook-up the trailer for towing home. Before leaving I never checked the hitch to ball connection. After driving through town and about 40 miles down the freeway the trailer came off the ball at about 60 mph. I saw it tip over and was sure it was going to flip but I was able to get it under control and stop off the side. Very lucky the marginal safety chains held and it did not turn over. The only damage seems to be to the trailer jack and a few scratches to my bumper.

I think I will remember to always check the hitch twice before leaving. The only thing I can think is that the hitch was not latched properly.

The Fiber Stream windows were made by [b]Kinro.
Link to previous discussion.

I would contact the Kinro company about screen and weep cover replacement.

Thank goodness you were able to minimize the damage!

I have not been able to find a source for over 5 years, I used to be able to get them when I first bought my Fiber Stream in 2004, but they're not in my source's catalog any more.

Thanks for the info. AND thanks for putting your checklist on line. IT ROCKS!! We are taking it out for the first time this morning. The checklist is very helpful.
