Greywater Tank in 1976 Trillium 1300

Was there an interior greywater tank in the original 1976 Trillium 1300? Currently there is a drain to the outside from the sink which needs an exterior tank. Just wondering if a tank went under one of the seats in the dinette?

I have a 75 and the sink drained through the floor into a bucket.

Thanks for your reply Colinn. I noticed a hole in the bottom of the seat storage nearest the sink but not under sink. Not sure what that hole is for but it was plugged with a wine cork.

The hole would be about 1.5" in diameter. The sink drain can"t go straight down iirc because the wheel well is in the way. My trailers drain hole is forward of the wheelwell.

In the '76 I am rebuilding, the water tank was under the passenger dinette seat, and it drained out a hatch on the side. In the rebuild i am completely removing the water tank to make room for storage, and using an external with a submersible pump. This way it only needs to be hooked up if water is wanted inside, and my daughter (who it is for) will be mostly cooking outdoors.

As I haven't figured out how to post a photo here, I can't show you the exterior drain that is below the cable hatch. It originally had a cover similar to the cable hatch but the hinges rusted and it fell off. Wish I could find another one. I currently attach a short hose to this and drain it into a grey tank on wheels like the larger RV's use. I don't like the look but it does the job. Thanks for all your comments. My 1976 Trillium still has its portable and original (I think) blue-coloured grey-water tank. It hooks to the outlet on the side and works just fine. I believe that the fresh water tank is original too. It was pretty funky when we got it but before throwing it away I cut a hole in the top, cleaned up the inside, and installed a plastic deck plate, using a potable-water safe seal. Oh, and I installed a foot-valve to save some pumping. We don't drink this water although it would likely be safe but use it for everything else. The idea of an external tank does seem appealing, though. I've also redone all the plumbing, tidied up the rough original build fiberglass surfaces on the inside of the kitchen cabinet, and painted all the insides of the cargo holds with acrylic porch and floor to clean them up.

I have a 75, 1300 and the sink drains out thru the drivers side of the trailer thru a fitting that has a flap that once opened reveals a female hose thread.. This sounds like what you have also.. The purpose of this fitting is to allow you to screw a short piece of garden hose ( the male end) into the fitting and place the other end into a portable container that can easily transported to the nearest outhouse or other graywater disposal site.. A lot of us just use a 20lt pail with a handle..

As far as I know, no classic Trillium 1300, or 4500 was made with a grey water tank.

I cut off my drain at floor level and plugged the hole. Then I dropped the drain hose into a 2gallon jug under my sink.

even the 5500's had no grey tank, mine was just plumbed to the 4 inch waste line, needing to be hooked to an external tank or a sewer line continuously. I didn't like this set-up, so I installed a grey tank, and re-did the waste water plumbing

My Trillium greywater outlet sounds like Randy J's. So the tank outside is pretty standard. Still don't know what the wine-cork-plugged hole was for. I guess it was something a previous owner put in for some project. Thanks for all your input.

If it's a hole under the drivers side rear bunk, then it was a drain hole for the fresh water tank for when you wanted to empty the tank (usually for the winter).
