Boat Hatch doors to replace Burro Cabinet doors.

Hello,

So my cabinet doors need replacing. My original plan was to get some nice maple and go to work sanding and shellacking. But then I discovered these made to order doors from Teak Isle - Build Your Own - Starboard Boat Door #13770-80003

I priced out a 7x11 inch door and it came to $142.00 kind of pricey, but it would be a clean look and solid install with a latch that won't bounce open on the road.

What do you think?

I like the idea of the clean look and a latch that works! I would prefer the hinge being on the side rather than the bottom. I wonder if we could use the boat cabinet latch on wood cabinets? The cost of the boat cabinet door is prohibitive for me.

You can choose where to have the hinge located. So that's nice. Yes a cheaper option would be nice. I also like the idea of having the hinge on the bottom and a cord/wire that keeps the door level when open. So that it can be used as a shelf.

I used several of these for outside hatched for my hose reels:

Marine Plastic 14 3 4” x 10 5 16” Access Hatch Inspection for Boat – Five Oceans | eBay

They have several different sizes and styles.
