Actually the one you have is an Igloo Kool Mate 50-Quart Thermoelectric Cooler you can find a manual for it at that link. There is an optional attachment that will let it run on electrical as well as 12v.

I have a 7 pole round connector with 12 volt power
But what in the world could that mousetrap fan do?

I thought about putting another smaller ice chest in it
for more insulation, ice in chest with food and maybe dry ice in the
Igloo along with beer?
Igloo fan alone does what?
The one I have cools to 40 degrees?
Thermoelectric cooler? Looks like a tiny fan to me LOL
I have to see that LOL

Gene a lot of people use those types of portable 12v coolers such as yours - most common to find them packing them in their cars rather than installed in a trailer though. Depending of the brand etc some say they work well, you just need to watch the power draw on the battery - check the manual link for what it eats in the way of power when on 12V - the big draw back is when you camp in temps of over 80 degrees as safe food storage is best at 40 degrees which the cooler you have can't achieve once the temps start to really rise up. You could supplement/help it in hot temps by putting a large freezer pack in it - such a milk jug full of water and frozen.

BTW the fan is moving the cold air around in the cooler. I have a small battery operated one in my 3 way RV fridge as it did not come with any fan built in (pretty common) and it does help to have the fan.

My thermometer read 60 degrees, I added several ice packs
to the upper tray ...Connected a 12v power supply ... fan came on
after an hr it read 84 degrees took thermometer out it fell to about
70 degrees on my work bench.
This Igloo will not cool anything.

Actually, they either cool, or heat, depending on the polarity of your 12 VDC. I suspect that yours is in the heat mode.

It should be noted that they are power hogs. Best to get a real fridge. What are the dimensions of the hole it is in. Please include the depth to the first obstruction.

Even the 3 way fridge in my trailer takes several hours to cool down.

The manual for your cooler says when you plug it in at the cooler you need to align the C on the receptacle beside the dot in order for it to cool.

What is a real fridge? The mega dollar?

I switched Polarity
Fridge 23" D ....20 1/2" H..21" W Fan is mounted on the left front side
Hole is 23"D to first obstruction ....22" H...21" W

I have not tried this cooler while traveling just bought the Burro camper
Testing on my work bench
I put another ice pack in and will wait and see
Looking at it I never dreamed it could cool
I have a 7 round connector and it feeds off my batt while I'm traveling.
Thanks, Gene
