Sorry for the newbie question, but I'm going to pick up my new to me 85 Uhaul 13' camper, and forgot to ask what size the hitch ball is. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance Russ

Common size is 2" but then again it could be a 1 7/8" - hard to say without looking at the coupler. Due to the age of the trailer it may not be the original coupler on the trailer.

Get both 2" and 1 7/8" balls, the price is around $5-7 at any walmart supercenter.

You can find a copy of the original users guide, and a whole bunch of other info, on the Uhaul Facebook group. The user's guide states use a 2" or 2 1/8" ball. I doubt you could find a 2 1/8" ball easily so use a 2" like everybody else does. Lots of good info over there, also a lot of info in the document center here.

2 1/8" ball really? Did not know they ever made such a thing. 2 5/16" yes.
Perhaps is a misprint? and they really meant to say a 2" ball with a 2 1/8" shank which is common.

I don't think it's a misprint. Uhaul used a lot of odd stuff, unique to their equipment only. Their trailer wheels are another example, odd bolt pattern and offset, and not available at Northern Tool or Tractor Supply like gets recommended occasionally. The user guide clearly says use 2" OR 2 1/8". They use the Fulton coupler with the screw knob so you just turn it until it's tight on the ball.
