Got Bigfoot Trailer!

I got my fiberglass trailer! It's a 1984 Bigfoot 17' purchased from a very charitable Calgary couple. I'm from Montana, had been looking for Bigfoots and since they're mostly in Canada I used the all-Canada Kijiji: Kijiji: Free Classifieds in Canada. Find a job, buy a car, find a house or apartment, furniture, appliances and more! to search the whole country for "bigfoot trailer." There were several, but only this seller responded to my enquiries and they were only 8 hours drive away.

Current exchange rate was very helpful, price was $10,000 Canadian but after conversion it came down into my price range ($7,700 US).

Importing was really easy. I ended up crossing at a very small border station and they had to make a phone call to find the right form to fill out. Once that was done I was able to cross, no fees or anything else. I tried to do research ahead of it and have a declaration form filled but none of it was actually required. There was no DOT sticker on the trailer. I haven't registered the trailer yet so we'll see how that goes.

I'm towing with a 3.4 V6 99 Toyota 4runner. It towed great empty and got the same MPG (13 / 13.5 mpg) as it did towing the previous TT, a supposedly 900# 12.5-foot aluminum-sided Serro Scotty. Not bad for an 1800# 17' trailer!
