Boler Frame rebuild

Hi all,
I am going to be taking my boler off of the frame soon. I have not been able to find a thread about this. It is a 1975. Has anyone done the frame removal? I just did the same with a Burro but it was just a matter of cutting the bolts. It did not have the undercarriage drop down, etc.

If you have done it please send me a note with any recommendations that you have.
thanks
Azur

My 74 has screws through the floor most were about rusted off.
There are a couple that are hard to find, one under the kitchen counter as an example
so careful when you start your lift that you got them all.
With your burro experience you should have no trouble.

My 72 boler 1300 was built by GlassFab in Peace River AB. It had 32 self tapping robertson screws holding it to the frame. Lots of fun using screw drivers, impact driver and vice grips. The most difficult was the one in the closet by the drop-down for the door. Didn't find that until the passenger side dropped about 2 inches and the driver side would not even come down a 1/4"

Thanks for your reply, mine was built in peace river as well. I look forward to those 32 screws. Just did it for my burro. it was similar. Used a sawzall and a wedge underneath. Real awkward!

Boler frame questions

Hi all - my frame questions are:
  • Does my frame have a lift kit installed?
  • What to paint my frame with assuming it passes the structural integrity inspection

Yes the 2" square tube has been added between the frame and axle mounts to raise the trailer.

Although any rust/metal paint can be used, POR15 is a very popular protective coating used. Be fore warned that POR15 is very thin and if you get it on your skin it does NOT come off, your hands will be black until that skin wears off.

The photos were taken by one-man job and finally in the bush. Take your time then everything will be OK.
