ParkLiner beach camping in Destin

Just spent nearly a week camping on the beach in Destin Fl. It was great to be right on the beach! We were in the second row. We have dogs so couldn't get the front row. Still a great way to wake up and have coffee. Camp Gulf isn't cheap but convenient to most everything. Sorry for the bad iPhone pics....

Full hookups inc cable and sewer. Prices vary depending on site. Mine was $130 less 10% good Sam discount. Children everywhere. They have a three story blow up water slide. Very well organized grounds, two pools, one heated, clean bath and laundry facilities, store, clean and well groomed staff. Very friendly too!

Is that $130 for a week or per day? Per week it doesn't seem high. Per day I can't imagine I'd ever pay that.

How do you like your Parkliner? Seems they are doing well. I'm glad. It's good to see another well made egg in the mix.

Why have a Travel Trailer, if you are going to pay Hotel prices.

Well a condo on the beach would have been about $450++ per night.

If you can find a beach front "hotel" or more likely a roach shack, for $130 per night, I don't think it'd be up to my standards....

It does not hurt to splurge a little, after all, ya travel so far to get to these awesome places. Glad you had fun. Carl

We have reservations at Delaware Seashores State Park in September for like a 1/4 of that rate. I've never heard of a campground as expensive as this one in Destin, but then again, we stay mostly in state and federal campgrounds. And we don't have little kids that need entertainment. Whatever works!

Tab...I very much appreciate the sharing of your photos and information with us as you travel about. What I am learning is that "camping" prices can be very steep depending on when and where the adventure lies. It seems that gone are the days of pitching a tent (free of charge) right on the beach no matter which coast the oceanside view is. I hope you and your family had a lovely time. Please continue keeping us informed with your travels...knowledge is a wonderful thing when it comes to planning. Rhonda

You can still camp as much as you wish on the Galveston TX beach for a mere $10 annual fee. There are plenty of places to boondock for free within an hour's drive of the Yosemite NP east entrance. There are a few free campsites inside Teton NP itself, and more in the nearby national forest. Just a few examples to show that those days of free camping are not gone.
