No Jim, I'll be working that weekend, but I'm retiring the first week in October, so I'll be able to travel at lib after that. We plan to come North later this year to visit some relatives.

Very nice Ron. Congrats!! Our deliver date is scheduled for this coming Tues. Thats the good news, the bad news is getting there with this god awful record breaking weather. Currently there is not a good route. Might have to put it off for a week or a few days.

If you can put it off, I would. My schedule wouldn't allow it. Thankfully I had 4 wheel drive.
The roads in Tennessee can be horrible. They don't have the road clearing equipment and appear to do little in the way of putting out salt or grit.

Where I live 4WD is virtually mandatory go we got that too, but it doesn't mean its sensible to set out on a cross country passage in this stuff either. Its like I told Robert this morning, no ones life is depending on this, its a first world problem.
Advise well taken for sure. We are both "self unemployed" and to some extent do have flexibility for now.
And there is another major storm about to hit again if not already. The front range out in this neck of the woods and also to the south in CO got hammered over the weekend too.

I have the bilge heater for intra-shell warmth, not because I have a bilge pump down there. LOL! (Hopefully I'll never wish I had a bilge pump)
My 2008 Ollie has numerous weep holes underneath at strategic low points of the mold to facilitate drainage. Looking under the trailer, you see no holes at all because they are all covered with the nice silver protective covers that Steve referred to in post #19.

Hmm...I'll have to look as I don't recall seeing any on mine.
I think you may have coined a new phrase there Pete - intra-shell warmth...

I did not like the look of the king-dome. Also, I wanted to have some reserve space on the roof for more solar in the future. I also already had a dish tailgater that works very well, and you have a lot of options on placement with it. Down the road, that equipment is fairly easy to upgrade or switch to direct-tv even.
If you get the king-dome, I don't think you have an option for broadcast tv at all, other than a set of rabbit ears. I watch a fair bit of network tv and pbs, so I really wanted that option. Plus the tv and antenna are 12v, so that makes for easy viewing at roadside stops.

Well here is a happy surprise - got back today and found I had left the heat on all week. I left it on "electric heat" which is the heat strip in the air conditioner. Left it on 64 degrees.
If you remember, the way this works is, if it drops more than 5 degrees off the themostat setting, then the gas furnace kicks on to get the temperature back up and then resumes in electric mode.
Well apparently it held temp all week, as there was no gas consumed. Even with 2 snow storms moving thru the area and temps in the 20's at night.
I am very relieved!

Did you have the valves on your propane tanks opened?

Yep, but just one tank. Tested by turning up the temp and the gas furnace popped on.

Well, our Scamp just sips propane for such heating of the air and water. We were shocked as to how little gas we used when camping. Love our Scamp! New interior now to show off!

Hi Ron, Great write up on the Oliver. I'm new to the RV world and am very excited to have sent in my deposit on a new Legacy Elite II with a delivery date of July 15th. We have choosen very similar options. Have you had the oportunity to test out the cell phone extender? I went for the WiFi extender but opted out of the cell phone, wasn't sure it it was worth it. I plan on pulling this baby with a GMC Yukon, cherry apple red...gonna look great going down the road!
