We bought a Boler 1700!

We got a new egg! We’re really excited. It’s a 1979 boler 1700 with ensolite (not popcorn) on the walls and a wet bath. I really wanted a bathroom! We have lots of things we want to do to it, but it will be campable as soon as DH installs new running lights. They were present, in various states of disrepair and no wires attached. We were able to use the 4 pin connector for the temporary brake lights on the bumper and the seven pin connector for the brakes at the same time to get the trailer back from Canada. It tows SO smoothly compared to the Boler 13 or the trillium 4500!

We took it to a scale and it weighs 2500 pounds empty, no cushions, no battery & no propane tanks.

I spent the last week and a half scrubbing and disinfecting the interior of the trailer and the windows until DH could stand anywhere and breath without problems(asthma and allergy). He spent the time sealing the trailer up for the winter. Our neighbors were very patient with it in our driveway for that time as we are only supposed to keep an RV on the driveway for 48hrs.

The last picture is of Jay Cooke State Park in Minnesota on our way home.

Hopefully this will be our final trailer, but DH has now seen a few pictures of Boler 1700’s with ensolite, wet bath AND fiberglass furniture….

Vary nice our neighbors has the straight door like your unit. See you have a Coleman stove in good shape we had to replace ours worked good but looked poor, found a vintage magic chef unit. You will have lots of fun in your new trailer.

Lucky you!

Wow it looks to be in great shape! We just got our 1977 17' fixed up this summer and have had some wonderful camping weekends in her so far. Love having a bathroom!

Thanks for all the congratulations!

The stove looks better in the pictures than in real life. The cook top is quite pitted, not sure how much I can polish it up, but it will be interesting to try. Aside from the oven rack, the inside of the oven looks nice.

Looking forward to working on it next spring. For now it is parked behind the shed at my Mom's house an hour away for the winter.

We love our 17 as well. Very nice to not have to walk in the dark to the campground bathroom! We can also camp longer without power as we can have showers every couple days! Kind of miss the simplicity of the 13 but would be hard to go back. Interesting the previous owner put a lino floor in ours too and it looks identical to yours!
