Scamp Faucet Question

Hi,
Tried a search, but couldn't find anything (or I'm not searching correctly).
I'd like to replace the faucet in our Scamp 13' with a Hi-Rise faucet.
Has anyone done this before ? Does any size RV faucet fit ? If not, how do I take measurements ? Any installation tips ?
Thanks !!

Sink

I changed a faucet in a 19' Scamp because it had froze. I found exact replacements at the local RV store. There are many options there, they are cheaply made to cut down on weight but work fine. You can go to Home Depot too. Just remove the one you have and measure center to center of the Hot n Cold handles. Remember, the higher to faucet, the more it splashes around.

All RV faucets are usually cheap and plastic. I think you will find that the faucet in your Scamp has the handles spaced 4" apart which means any household faucet with 4" centers will fit. I used a high rise bar faucet in my Boler and it worked great. Check your local home improvement store like Home Depot.

Ian's correct. Skip the RV stuff and go right to someplace like Lowes or Home Depot (or even online). 4" centers mean either something considered a bar faucet or even a bathroom faucet. I'd suggest getting one with paddle handles.

What ever faucet you decide on, it will install much easier if you remove the sink first. There are wing nuts in each corner, and you must remove the drain hose......that's it. We went with a shower handle attachment so we could more easily rinse large pots, or wash our hair. The sprayer could also be passed out the kitchen window into a portable enclosure for showering.

Here's an inexpensive 4-inch on-center pull-out faucet I installed in my Bigfoot last year. It is from Home Depot and made for a laundry sink. I've used it quite a bit since the install and it still works great and makes the chore of washing dishes much easier than it was with the previous bar faucet I had in there.

Hi Trainjunkie,
Well, I went straight on the Internet and bought your very nice laundry tub faucet with center sprayer. Seemed a great idea to me, and i anxiously await it's arrival, along with spring, to install it. It was 64 bucks and shipping here. Thanks also to Dave for suggesting the sink and drain hose removal first. I am so tired of -20 degree temps I could scream. It's so boring in Buffalo. I need to camp!
