Steve, the Eriba is mentioned regularly here. Frankly, they share many of the attributes of our fiberglass trailers. What they aren't is fiberglass, so we don't discuss them in depth.

Trailer: Boler (B1700RGH) 1979

One concern which was briefly raised was potential failure of a new RV manufacturer.

If I were considering a new car, I would be concerned if the maker were to go out of business and be unable to support it in a couple of years; in contrast, RVs are simpler and generally built of common components which remain available and supportable even when the RV maker is long gone.

The maker of my Boler has been gone for a couple of decades, but there is no problem getting parts and materials to maintain the trailer, which means that it can retain its value as well as the products of makers who are still in business. I certainly hope that Oliver makes it in the business, but I don't think the risk of them not making it should hurt the resale value much.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Trailer: 2003 Casita Liberty Deluxe
Posts: 118
I spoke with Jim Oliver at the RV show in Pomona. Their plan is to make a modified Liberty-type with L shaped twin beds, then a two axle 20 footer that would have a full time king or queen bed and dinette. I told him to go right for the 20 footer. We already know how to make every modification possible for a 17 foot Casita! The trailer is not their first business. They already are in the business of fiberglass making foundations for mobile homes (didn't know that they used fiberglass in them) and fiberglass tubs, surrounds and showers. There are three Casitas in the family. After using them for camping and hunting, they decided to make their own version with some major improvements. But I feel that the current Casita owner and fiberglass RV owner is looking for something more innovative. Jim really put allot of thought into the trailer and I do hope they make it, but he needs find his niche in the market. It is not a run of the mill trailer. The construction is a big upgrade from a Casita. I personally don't care for the white fiberglass inside, but it is very well constructed with better fixtures, LED lighting, better weight distribution, no rivets to pop...the list goes on.....

I think a point to ponder is to wait a while untill it proves itself. Sometimes we see what we want to see. Time will tell if unit is as good as we all think.
Just my thoughts.

Harumph!

Well, I suppose it is your opinion, although I personally tend to avoid slamming (perhaps too strong a word) specific trailer brands.

I agree with Chester. They are doing things differently. Time will tell if they’re also better.

You are definitely right, Steve. It is my opinion. I am not putting down a Casita...I own one and like it....allot! If I had my choice today to buy a Casita or Oliver, I'd take the Casita. I like the style and warmth (feeling, not temperature) of the Casita better than the Oliver, but I do feel that the Oliver is better constructed. As you said, time will tell.....but I'm rooting for them. A little competition is always good. Jim Oliver is open to suggestions and finding out what the buyers want.
