13’or16’ Casita needed in Austin for Screen Door Research

Tried to order a Retractable Screen Door for my 16’LD Casita from Plisse Screen doors and got this response. Anybody in the Austin area with a Curved Door Casita that could help these guys out?
Robbie,

“I do not think the straight one will work with the curved door.

We had some success with the curved screen but had problems when we tried to move to a more production model as opposed to the one off we did for someone in Florida. I am confident we can overcome problems if we had a trailer to test on for a week or two.

I would appreciate you putting out the word that anyone that has one of these trailers in the Austin area who is willing to let us use it to develop the screen would be given a screen as compensation free of charge.

Thanks,”

13’or16’ Casita needed in Austin for Screen Door Research

Scamp has used the straight Plisse for several years now. It merely requires building out a frame inside the doorway. There is no real impact on space inside the trailer. It’s only about 4” wide in the middle and tapers to zero top and bottom.

Is there something different about a Casita that prevents this approach?

I mean... if I had a Casita anywhere near Austin, I’d be all over this. Just wondering why a new product is needed.

I’ll do it!

I have a 13’ 2016 Casita and I live 2 1/2 hours from Austin. I’d be happy to go there for them to look at making a screen. I have left a phone message with Doug.

If someone with a Scamp 13' or 16' could provide a template for the screen door, that may be helpful too. I used to have a Scamp 13', but sold it. Now have Casita 16'. Sure miss that cute little screen door.
