Ma (Canada) - 1974 - Surfside (front kitchen) - $4200

Not a Trillium, but just as good. A front kitchen Surfside has a real king sized bed. Unlike other Surfsides, the interior is fibreglass as well.

Looks to be in good shape

1974 Surfside 14' Travel Trailer, RARE FRONT KITCHEN MODEL | travel trailers, campers | Winnipeg | Kijiji

Date Listed: 25-May-15
Price: $4,200.00
Address: Sanford, MB R0G

For Sale By: Owner

This is a 1974 Surfside TM 14 travel trailer with the very rare front kitchen layout. Similar to a Boler or Trillium, it is of fiberglass construction. It is very easy to tow with a 1500 lb. GVW. The kitchen has a 2 burner cooktop, and a stainless steel sink. There are 2 water systems, one connects to a city hook up (hose), and the other uses a manual pump to bring water from the on board water tank. It has both 110 and 12 v electrical, with a new 12 v battery. There is a shelf for a TV. Included also is a 3 way fridge that works well on both propane and electicity. Under the counter is a good deal of storage. There is an extremely large (for this type of trailer) closet. The dining/sleeping area includes a horseshoe sitting area with storage under both the side and the rear seats. The table comes down to provode a sleeping area for 2. Unlike other trailers of this generation/style There are windows on all four sides (with working window cranks) This means it doesn't matter which way the breeze is coming from, you can still feel it. The 14" Tires are in near new condition plus it also has the front window rock shield. Asking $4500.00, but will take 4,200.00. Although I live in Sanford, Manitoba, this Surf Side trailer is in a storage compound in Winnipeg. Please call 204-736-3791

Any that might be seriously interested in a completely refurbished Surfside of that exact same model, and can travel to ID for pick-up, drop me a pm and I will put you into contact with the seller before it goes on eBay. It's almost finished and should be available by mid- June. I will be looking at it myself the 11-13th of June (but not to buy))

BTW: The seller(s) are top line referbishers and are well known in the mini-motorhome marketplace for their work. This is their first towable.

Triple E says that they manufactured the Surf-Side from 1977 till 1980. Some of the 77s have a 76 date on them but I am not sure that there were any as early as 1974. The 1977 brochure that shows the models for that year does not show any with a front kitchen. Maybe this is a redo or maybe a newer model than 1974? Just curious.

I would say it is factory, but like many trailers of this vintage, the date gets mixed up. That is why I started the Trillium serial number list.

1974 Surfside

I just bought a 1974 Surf Side as well with a front kitchen. It's always been registered as a Boler (as opposed to Triple E). The last owner claimed that Boler made them for the first few years, but I don't really know.

Surf-Side fiberglass trailers were manufactured from 1977 until 1980 by Triple E RV Manufacturing in Winkler, Manitoba, Canada.

The VIN numbers are related to the frames the units are put on. This means the VIN number of the metal trailer which is the VIN number that gets used on the title can be several years off from the final completion date when the FGRV rolled out the factory door. Or then again perhaps the metal trailer frame was also made that same year. Confusing right? But that is why you see VINs and the dates on the titles for the rig that don't match up to the stated production completion years.

My trailer came with the upper bunk but it was not installed during some painting jobs and reno. It looks original yet we can't get it to fit.

Is it possible that the trailer shifted inwards a bit without the structural sport of the bed? I hope not but I guess I can cut a bit of wood off the bunk to make it fit again.

yes the fiberglass shell can move, especially if ceiling support is taken away.

The missing upper bunk would not cause the fibreglass to change shape.
