Maybe this will clear things up a bit...

On the Parkliner website:
ParkLiner Introduces Longer 16-Foot Model: Designed to Give You Peace of Mind!

The new ParkLiner 16 is longer and more luxurious than ever. While the original ParkLiner incorporated many ingenious features into the lightweight fiberglass camper, the new, improved model rivals the best trailers on the market today.
This new generation model features an inner and outer fiberglass shell. We have also added a double layer of insulation between the shells to keep you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
Additionally, the new ParkLiner features an A/C with a beautiful low-profile 11,500 BTU roof model, allowing for more storage inside.
And that’s not all. There’s an outside storage compartment designed to give you ample room to house your essential camping equipment, and the unit’s entry door is taller for more functionality and safety–all while lending to a newer, sleeker look.
One of the new ParkLiner’s most noteworthy features is that the entire structure is 100-percent fiberglass. That’s right! No wood supporting the trailer, including the floor. The only wood used is for the handcrafted maple cabinet doors, ensuring a completely rot-free trailer, peace of mind, and zero maintenance.
The ParkLiner 16 will offer new features, while standardizing some of the classic options that make the ParkLiner great. This unit will be priced starting in the mid-$20,000’s.

Now if they'd get rid of that boondoggle mascerating toilet and replace it with a simple gravity feed toilet and separate black tank, I'd really be impressed.

I'm curious why they made all these changes and didn't create a new logo.
Also, wonder with all the changes, if they couldn't have just created a new company.

So this is not the Parkliner folks currently own, this is a new model. Sounds like they are taking a page from Oliver. Unfortunately the web site features the original model. The announcement wasn't there yesterday when I checked. Like they say, the devil is in the details.

Parkliner misinformation

There seems to be a lot of misinformation floating around out there about this new Parkliner model. If you go on their website, www.parkliner.com, and scroll down to their blog, you will see that they clearly state on their official website that the starting price for this new model is in the mid-20s.

Doesn't matter if the floor is wood or not, there is no ZERO maintenance trailer.

$7500 off new Parkliner

If this was indeed a new 16ft model Parkliner at the RV show, did they have any kind of brochure showing the interior layout? If so, could someone snap a cell phone picture of the layout (and text) and post it? Did anyone snap cell phone pix of the interior?

In the new unit, is there now more counter space and at least an option for a larger refrigerator than the original1.9 cu-ft (optional) Dometic?

During one discussion with Tom Bass, he indicated that they had figured out a way/place to put in separate black and gray tanks. I wonder if the new trailer includes that change?

In addition to the new 16ft trailer, will they still be producing the 15ft Parkliner?

Parkliner has always had some interesting engineering and features. Even if some of us can't now afford one, it will be interesting to watch this story unfold.

Ray,
I posted this on the thread "New news from ParkLiner". It is the only pic I can find right now. I apologize for the picture quality but you can see some of the updates inside and out..

In Sid's picture the closet is open like the earlier trailer. The show trailer had a closet bulkhead and door. The entrance door was open at the show but did not notice a screen. In Sid's picture it looks like the trailer has a conventional straight RV door with a screen. Getting rid of the old universal joint hinges would also be a great improvement.

Looks like the door has been completely redesigned. The rain gutter is different as is the bottom threshold. I bet the old universal joint hinges are gone as well. If so, folks that have the original trailer might want to buy a spare set. Raz

When I looked at the Parkliner last spring, the base- leaving out propane and installing the bunk beds, would've been 15,500. Then adding in what I wanted would've been about $2500 more.

The new Parkliner is larger, double hulled, and has more features. You can't expect the price to stay the same.

I like " RAT FUR" !! It adds a certain warmth and ambiance to a trailer otherwise the interior looks like the inside of my refrigerator. " COLD & STERILE"

Double hull, double price? Works for me, but I don't plan to buy one. The reverse trolly roof would make snow removal a real hassle.

I agree. Mine has a vinyl material. I would have preferred rat fur.

Raz , It may be because of age or my poor memory but I remember my Dad's old cars with vinyl seats . The seats were hot in the summer and cold in the winter . It only took about 2 winters with 20 below temps and the seats looked like they were 20 years old with cracks everywhere. Even if you put seat covers on to protect the seats they still cracked . I do kind of miss in a weird way the crunching sound the seats made when you climbed into the car during winter.

Appears that there is a gap between the awning and the trailer. That's inconvenient.

Good eye there Glenn and I agree. The Casita forums have lots of complaints about a similar gap and attempts to deal with it.
My Bigfoot is the only one of my trailers to have an awning and I love it, but I wouldn't be happy with that gap.

There was no gap between the awning and the roof on my 1999 Scamp , there is on my 2013 Casita .
I wanted the gap . I had rivet leaks on the Scamp that were
underneath the roof / awning seal and it was a PITA to repair .
I had to destroy the seal to replace the rivets . The seal also trapped leaves and dirt on the roof which made it hard to clean the roof and stained the gel coat. The foam seal always looked like it was dirty especially after I washed & waxed the roof.
With the gap , I can just rinse the dirt off with a hose .
Just my personnal preference and I can see pros and cons to both installation methods.

Notice they are now using a 12v awning similar to Escape with no arms...
