Looking for ladies to join our Facebook Group Glamping Dolls
I'd like to extend a invitation to the ladies of Fiberglass RV to join my Facebook group Glamping Dolls. We are a group of over 1200 women who enjoy Glamping (Glamorous Camping) world wide. I'm a married Mother of 5 grown children, I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba and I own a 1978 boler named Lola and a 1965 Safari named Lolli. I will be hosting our 1st gathering this June in the picturesque Riding Mountain National Park in Manitoba, see rallies thread or google map for details.
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ing-74375.html
We are a pet and child friendly group, just no men.
If you love to decorate your vintage trailer, are interested in hitting the open road with just the ladies, sharing some wonderful adventures in Mother Nature, having some giggles, whipping up some tastes eats and treats to share, we'd love to have you join us.

No men? Sounds kinda sexist in this day and age. (Just Kidding!)
I just might have to restart the old "Our Gang" movies He-man Woman Haters Club
(For those among us who are old enough to remember the Our Gang Bunch; like Stymie, Darla, Alfalfa, Spanky and Froggy and several others.)

Hi Teal,
Yes we do have members in AZ, please join our group on Facebook and you can try and connect with them. I'd also suggest joining Sisters on the Fly. https://www.facebook.com/groups/GlampingDolls/

What fun! I will not be joining however. I'm really not a glamper. My theme is "clean." Sometimes I hit it and sometimes I don't!

Yeah, nowadays you have to allow people of all 5 (or is it now 6?) genders. Don't ask me to list them all, it's too confusing... lol

If you changed the name of the group to something that is not blatantly old school sexist stereotyping I might consider it. Nostalgia is fine but there are many aspects of it that were not.

Oh my. Your connotation and you are free not to join of course.
I don't think the ladies named it with intention to create a sexist group. They obviously like glamping style camping. Good for them. Dolls? Who cares. I have never minded when a man or woman said to me, "You're a doll Wendy." I see it as a compliment.
And I'm not a glamper but I appreciate folks who are and I get it. I bet both men and women fall into that category!
At any rate, I am confident no malice was intended here. Again, yiuve obviously exercised your right to not join, while the other 1200 have. All good.

Couple of thoughts
A couple times a year my wife gets together with some long time friends. I know them all and I'm always invited. While I'm sure it would be most enjoyable, I always refuse. Me being there would change the dynamic, not something I would want to do. Sometimes the girls should be with the girls.
Like most colleges, the one I worked at rented the place out over the summer to help pay the bills. One group that came evey year was a rug making group. For several days class rooms were filled people, mostly women, interested in making hooked rugs. The called themselves the happy hookers. It made everyone smile. Raz

Ha ha! I love it when people create a funny play on words! Happy to hook rugs, hooked on being happy.
Such as in my trailer name, Shrimp Scampi.
Good story Raz. And I agree: sometimes the girls just wanna be with the girls. Of course the same is true for the boys.
Cheers

Reminds me of when a local 4H gardening club was told they could not call themselves the "Happy Hoe-ers".
