Boler Factory Address

Does anyone know what the original Factory address was for the Boler in Winnipeg?

I know it was on Higgins Ave in 1968 and then moved to Dufferin Ave in 1969.

There seems to be some conflict as to the Dufferin address as well was it 177 or 770 Dufferin Ave?

Thanks
Rick

If you go to the Documents Center here and take a look at the 1973 Boler Brochure it has written on it that the address then was 770 Dafferin - it appears Bolerama.org also agress with that address but they dont indicate what the first address was.

You could look at the many other brochures to see what other address turn up.

You might want to check with Roy in TO. He started the Egg History thread and I'm thinking if anyone knows the original factory address... it would be him.

Hi Rick,
It was 770 Dufferin Ave. We checked it out when passing through on a trip to Churchill in 2009 and had a chat with Perry Rayburn, the landlord. He was still getting mail addressed to Boler at that time.

Attached is proof.

Thanks Des.

Ya that's what I thought as it appears as 770 Dufferin Ave in most documents I have found. Guess someone did not do their homework for the 2 documents I found with 177 Dufferin Ave as the address.

Still have not located anything for the Higgins Ave. address for the original first factory.

Awesome pics BTW.

Rick

Original Bolermoldmaker Sandor Dusa's widow Corinne joined up/ posted here this year to set a few things in the record straight.

A P.M. to her might get the answers you're looking for.

I really want to know how you got your Boler to Churchill since there is no road .

I'm glad that you asked.

We hauled the Boler to the end of the road (a good one), at Thompson, left the whole rig in McCreedy's Campground, then took the overnight train to Churchill. We lucked in on a threatened rail strike. VIA Rail put us up for an extra night, then flew us back to Thompson in about 20 minutes. McCreedy's had driven us to the rail station and were waiting for us at the airport on our return, all complimentary.

This was a fascinating excursion that we recommend highly.

Excellent story, but I was hoping the Boler went on the train too!
