After work tonight I cleaned the dust out from the inside, looks like this:





Told you I got carried away when I winterized last fall.


now here is another tease, the first test fit of the cabinets. This is the most difficult cabinet work I have ever done, not a single straight side to work from. Construction of the cabunets is 3/8" and 1/2" baltic birch, open backs were possible to keep weight to a minimum.

Just because it's out of the weather, doesn't mean it's not cold. We don't have any snow in SLC right now, but it's WAY too cold for me to work in the garage today. I can just imagine what it's like up there in Calgary.

Yes an uninsulated and unheated garage, temp right now is at the freezing point so it is "coolish" .

I was hoping to get the interior walls done, fill the ensolite gaps, tape the seams and paint. instead I am building the stuctural members to support the roof and door, not exciting work but it need to get done.

Still under construction but this gives the idea of what the roof supports look like.

Yes, I will use epoxy to bond the supports to the walls. One will be installed at the mid-point on each wall and one will be added to each side of the door.

I measured these areas prior to removing the interior, it is amazing the amount of sag that had taken place over the years. The new supports should bring the shape back to the original and allow the door to fit correctly.

Ian, fantastic job on the trailer frame. I like the look of the inside drawing, can't wait to see the finished product.

This weekend it felt like the re-assembly started.
After a complete scrubbing of the interior with TSP and rinse with ammonia and water I installed the door frame supports. Using West System 105 epoxy with Colloidal Silica filler you create a bond that will never separate.


From the inside:




Even with the scrubbing the interior just would not come clean enough so with some research I decided to paint the Elephant skin.

With the seams all chalked the windows masked and ready for the primer then paint.

Primed and painted the interior, looks so clean and bright.

The bed is a full 54" wide, I will look after how the overhang looks a little later

Sorry for the long delay in updates.
I worked on the renovation right up to early June at which time my son and I took the almost completed Boler on a 7100km (4400 mile)m trip through the Yukon and Alaska, a truly amazing adventure.

Since our return we have been camping almost every weekend enjoying our Boler.

To update the renovation it is coming along quite well, but there is still lots to do. The interior cabinets, fridge, sink, plumbing and electrical are all installed. The Sunbrella fabric covered cushions have new high quality upholstery foam.

Still to complete: cabinet doors under the sink and the closet, a night table beside the bed that conceals the porta-potty, back-splash, flooring, and some trim. Next year the exterior will be the focus.
