Square Door on a Casita?

Ok, I am pretty sure this Casita/2001 is a Scam, as it has been advertised all over the US. But one thing that got my scam radar up was the square door, I have never seen a square door on a Casita before. Have you? As I said, it got my radar up but now I wanna know, does Casita put square doors on as well as our little curved door? Thanks for the info. Robin

Our 1999 17' SD has a door just like that. Perhaps they didn't change from the square door until after 2001.

Yes, Robin. When Casita first started making the 17 footers, they used a regular RV door. After much clamoring from people who preferred the look of the "aircraft" type door on the 16 footer, Casita came up with a similar door for the 17 footers.

I'm thinking they switched to the rounded doors in about 2003... but it could've been a year earlier or later. (I'm sure somebody will correct me.)

According to the list of design changes on the CasitaForum.com, the square door was used first in 1996 and changed back to the rounded aircraft style in 2002. Good guess MaryF.

Well, either I have never paid attention to the square door or I just hadn't seen it. Thanks everyone for the info. The pic Kevin posted I have seen several times and just didn't pick up on it (to be honest, it looks like mine, but if you say it's square Kevin I will believe you) . I love that set up!


It's amazing that Casita buyers were able to input their wants as Mary pointed out. I actually see advantages to the square door, though I love the look of the aircraft type or should I say that's what I am use to seeing so I like it. Thanks again Everyone for the casita doors lesson!

Yes, that is a SCAM ad. It is actually the same group that we've been flagging so quickly that they changed to this new format to see if we'd still catch them. Didn't work, we got them all flagged within hours even with the new format.
