Romotow, new in 2016

Anyone see this new concept yet? Very high end egg(?). According to the website it should be available mid 2016. Innovative to say the least.
According to the website 6 were pre sold in 2014 but no actual pictures to be found...

That's one way to eliminate the awning issue when it gets stormy..........

A fun concept, but it will never fly. Where is the hitch? Too complicated mechanisms

Watched the video and have to ask...what is the point? What is achieved? Seems to have a lot of motorized moving parts to go wrong, in order to have a hard awning.
Who moves the picnic table for you so you can open the thing?

I guess the idea is by adding "side curtains" you gain extra living space. Similar to a slide? Heavy by our standards. It says 2500-3500 kg for weight and shows 2 and 3 axles. I would be concerned the cantilever would tip over. If the hinged end is heavy enough to support it then what's the tongue weight?

A couple of college room mates decided to start a business. Ten years later... I wish them well. (From the cheap seats) Raz

Agreed P. Raz. From the cheap seats, I'll stick with my Scamp and bag awning. Economical. Simple. Or as I say, "cheap and cheerful." 😋

Designer fantasizing IMO.
Pretty cool concept, but looks designed by people who've never camped.
Looks like they had the idea looking at some USB stick.

I had the same feeling when I first looked at Safari Condo's Alto trailer. Although it is a actual trailer on the market, good looking, well made with high tech materials, super cute, etc, IMO it has a poor floor plan, very little storage, questionable durability, and is incredibly expensive. Seems designed by someone who've never camper before. Yet, many seem to like it enough to buy it (not me) so who knows...

2500-3500 kg is pretty heavy (in our FG world at least) and I suspect the final design will be somewhat different than this proposed one. There are things that I just don't see working right, or reliably.

I agree completely Carl.
Design for designs sake is nice but not when I am pulling it or paying for it.
Be stylish by all means but solve a problem while you are at it.
