New Perris Pacer Owner

Hi, I am new to the Fiberglass RV forum. I am glad I have found this resource. I located my new (well, old) Perris Pacer through a link on this site and now a proud owner of this great little 13' camper.

I will be starting a restoration on this camper in the next couple weeks. We are waiting for some snow to melt there in KC!

Congrats!

Hi Laural,

We just bought our first camper, a 1988 Perris Pacer, in December. So far, so good! I wanted one of these because they have a large side window. We have been working on fixing up the inside, and have taken it out camping twice so far.

Everyone on this site is so friendly and helpful, and I don't know how we would have known where to start or what to do without them! One guy who does amazing renovations and generously shares all his tips, resources and preferences is Robert Johan. Just search this site and his name, or go to his web site: The Egg Plant. He restored a Perris Pacer, too!

Best of luck!
Here are a couple links that show our camper, before, and a peak at after:
Before: http://lagunadirt.com/2013/01/a-new-...ris-pacer.html
Some after: Glamping in Crystal Cove State Park | Laguna Dirt

Have fun! Janine

@Vicky

Thanks! I've been studying and admiring your little "Bean" for a while, too! Definitely one of the best looking PPs on the road!

Laural, welcome to the group! Love your egg. Today in Michigan it was 65degrees (woohoo!). BUT the ground is like mush from all the snow melt. It gives us all hope that Spring is coming!!! Looking forward to pics as you personalize your PP.

Hi Janine,
Life got busy and I haven't been on here for weeks. Thanks for the links. Your Pacer is beautiful. I actually looked at your before post via a google search for Perris Pacer before deciding to buy ours. Thanks!

Alan, thanks for the introduction. Spring has still not arrived in Kansas City, so I have not gotten back out to work on our little Pacer. I do have quite a list of things I want to do.

I have a lot of questions, primarily on resources to find original (or close) parts.

If you know of any resources, would you care to pass them along.

On our list is:

1) Completely replace the cushions. I pulled all the fabric off of the original cushions, but they are terribly dusty. Any suggestions?
2) the previous owner redid the carpeting on the walls, i want to pull it out and start over. Maybe with an insulation of some kind. Suggestions?

3) the front window has been removed and a window air comditioner was installed. It it very much in the way (though cold and might be nice in August) any chance of finding a replacement window or alternative solution

4) some of the latches are missing on the cabinets. I would like to complete all the cabinet latches.

That's pretty much it for now!

Thanks.
