Burro interior
Hi all !
Ive enjoyed looking through the posts at pictures of others mods and progress, so i thought I would share some from my recent Burro redo...
I wanted to stay away from carpet so I used alot of bamboo instead.
future plans include a icebox or fridge and maybe a small front dinette.

I like the bamboo, very cooling looking. Where does one acquire such?

OHHH, that is NICE!
Countertop: fabulous!
Bamboo: whoa, that is clever.
Rear dinette: did you chop out part of the U? That is an impressive looking sound system there.

Yep, the rear part of the U was traded for more floor space !

Mike: Could you tell me more about your ceiling treatment? I have a Perris Pacer that we are re-doing and the original came with a wooden panel on the ceiling (like a sheet of paneling) 42" x 8 ft. I haven't been happy with anything I've seen at the store--but YOUR idea just may be the ticket!
How did you attach yours and what did you use for the trim?

WOW! just back from a trip to Hawaii / Samoa and about to start my U Haul 13' renovation in earnest. i was initially considering a hi-tech, euro, theme ... but this has me very confused! i was taken with polynesian aesthetics - simplicity and natural art. my wife LOVES this look. its like having a little island bungalow wherever you go!
the bamboo and recycling are brilliant - there's no limit to the creativity of folks here!
so very well done Mike.

I agree, Paul, I am so excited about this! I looked at some stores today (Lowes and Shopko) and bamboo blinds happen to be on sale now! I'll be able to do my ceiling super inexpensively!
BTW--have to correct the measurements of the ceiling panel--it's 36" x 74". Which makes the bamboo blinds that are 35" x 72" perfect! After I put a trim around it---it should fit perfectly!

I'm glad it gives you some ideas for your trailer!
I glued reflectix insulation to the roof with 3m adhesive spray then put up the bamboo. the wood trim is glued with liquid nails bathtub glue and screwed in place. We have had a few days near 100 degrees outside and no signs of anything coming loose.
One tip to share, if you cut the strings on the shade to trim around a vent or something, use super glue on both sides of the cut first . Otherwise it unravels and leaves you with a pile of chopsticks really quick  Lol!

What a beautiful job! Makes me wish we had our little ole Burro and back and could do some of the same. I love the bamboo, that carpeting never appealed to me. You have created a truly beautiful little trailer, warm, cozy, very natural and classy looking.
What year is your Burro? Sigh......I do miss ours. The Escape is great, but Burros are just so dang cute and I love the double wall.
Congratulations on all your work - now you can relax and enjoy!

Wow, what a nice updated look. Your Burro is so fresh looking. I love the wood look and that is a future plan for our Burro. I just did not think of the bamboo- what a nice coordinated interior. Hmmm, certainly food for thought. I see you also updated the lighting. Really a very super interior- kudos.

I have a similar treatment to my header area. Originally, I wanted to use oak tambour (like the rollup desks have) but the cost was rediculous (200$). So instead, I bought some some grasscloth rollup shades, cut them to fit with scissors, and spray-glued them to the bubble insulation, then glued that to the header area. I don't have woodworking skills, so will just hot-glue up some leather trim that I bought. Mike, the wood looks great!!

That sounds nice,I would like to see pictures of that! My idea came from thatched roofs, we would backfill the interior side with water reeds for a natural ceiling treatment.

Most of it is assembled from various scavenged parts. I added two 12v outlets and a aux. port for the ipod.There is a remote to make radio control easier when the bed is laid out.
The rear part of the dinnette was cut out and the benches reinforced with aluminum.
