Door Gasket Trillium

I have almost completely renovated my 79 Trillium...but lack to parts.

DOOR FRAME GASKET: I have the flat gasket that goes on the door, but cannot find the gasket that attaches to the door frame. My problem is that the thickness of the frame varies from 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Can't find 1/2" to go over the door frame.

SECOND: I am looking for the long plastic pieces that cover up splices in head covering throughout the camper...don't know what you call them.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Scamp door only has one gasket that I ordered from them directly. The old gasket was simply a strip of foam with an adhesive back but it didn't seal well and I believe caused more problems that it corrected. I believe it may be like the flat gasket you mentioned. I ordered a new seal that is completely different in shape as well as texture for the door seal that attaches to the door frame to meet the door as it's closing. You can prolly get this from them since I'm sure they don't care who gives them money, or you could shop around for a similar product at a auto parts store because I've seen door edging for trucks and such that is similar. When I talked to the Scamp parts rep he referred to the adhesive on this weather seal as "Gorilla Glue" like. We haven't installed it yet because of the temperatures are so cold and I'd like to wait until it warms up and complete a better job of cleaning the door frame without the cleaner freezing. Some have posted in the pass this seal to use around the door, whether it's the exact one or not has not been posted, if you decide on this one or find one that is the correct one please let everyone know for future use...

I have also read on here that the trunk gasket that fits a Dodge car of some type is a "EXACT" fit but I've never found out the year and model of the car..
Maybe someone who has used it will read this and post that information.. I have 8 Trilliums that I've been working on so that information will be helpful for me down the road.

Well....I am 99% finished with the restoration of the 1979 Trillium 13'. I looked at several used brands and liked the Trillium and the Uhaul the best. This particular Trillium, the fiberglass was in almost perfect shape.....not even much minor fixes. Lady kept it in the garage. Wet sanded the exterior and the gloss came back on the gel coat. Took all the windows and to resurface and am I glad I did. The wood frames between the fiberglass were like sawdust and crumbled. Took out propane stove and removed exterior tanks. Took body off frame.......painted frame and installed a new axel. Rewired, replaced cabinet and closet doors, recovered cushions, new microwave, fridge and converter. So...down to finding this gasket AND the flexible plastic stuff that covers the seams of the headliner.........BTW put original windows back in after I cleaned them and the look nice. The interior fiberglass was virtually mint considering it's 38 years. Thanks again and will be in contact on gasket.

Hi I replaced the door gasket on my 1976 Trillium with a "D" shaped molded gasket I found on E-bay. I used a 5/8" dia gasket .It has a flat side with peel and stick adhesive on it. You order it by the foot. Google "foam rubber door gasket" in that size and you'll find it. I can't remember now how long a piece I bought. ( I think I had about 8" left over) Measure around the door and order it a little longer so you have enough to go all the way around. Mine has never leaked anywhere. The rubber gasket is hollow and squeezes tight to the trailer opening. Make sure the surface is clean & dry place it on carefully a short amount at a time, try not to stretch it too much, once it touches it sticks for good. I made the joint at the bottom of the door & used rubber cement to bond the cut ends. Hope I have helped you in some way. Usually it comes down to knowing what the name of the item you need is. The top link talks about the gaskets.

We put on a used one off a Volkswagen camper. I ended up grinding down the thick spots to make it fit. Only cost me $30.

I ordered and received the door gasket from Trillium. It does not fit. Here is why. The thickness of the lip around the door ranges from 1/4" to a little over 1/2". The reason is because the lower half of the lip is comprised of two thicknesses of fiberglass coming together. It is from the interior molded seats and closet area. So......the gasket I purchased will only cover the 1/4" thickness. It was suggested to file down the thickness so it would fit. I am not doing that because I think first and foremost it would compromise the strength. Any ideas? I'm still looking.
