Repairing severe dammage on a Trillium 4500
One of my friend bought a Trillium just before winter. She stored it in a shed that collapse on her Trillium... Very big dammage on it...
I know that fiberglass is pretty easy to repair. I was wondering if anyone know someone specilized in that kind of repair? We're living in Quebec city.
Thank you.

A boat repair shop will be able to point you in the right direction if they don't do it.

I don't know about "easy," but certainly not cheap if you're paying someone else to do it. From an insurance standpoint, any serious fiberglass damage is almost always written off as a total loss, because it will cost more for a professional repair than the trailer is worth.
Many people have done amazing work repairing severely damaged fiberglass shells, but they invested a substantial amount of their own free labor.
This is the go-to thread to learn how to do it: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ass-52498.html

We had a crunched Casita that cost about $10,000 to repair. It was done by a professional RV body repair place in south of Seattle. Since our Casita was only one year old at the time, the insurance covered almost the entire cost.

Thank you for your answers. Buying a similar trailer will cost around 9000$. I tought that it would be possible to have it repared for a price similar to this, but I'm pretty sure the insurance company won't pay that much...

Any pictures? What some consider to be very big damage, might not be all that bad.. truly.

Really awful. I believe someone on here had a trailer totaled, paid by the insurance company. They were allowed to keep the trailer, then repaired it for less than paid and bought something else, too. Don't know how a company wouldn't total that. Hopefully owner will get the full value, or whatever the insurance covered.

Norm's Humpty Dumpty was just as bad. You wouldn't know it when he was done! And he did the work himself. So we know dang near any kind of repair is possible

Old barns and snow. All too common this time of year. Very sad. Hope it can be saved.

Oh man, I could cry, and I am not the owner. What year is this Trillium? Is it a front dinette, bathroom, or gaucho?
The fibreglass is not just broken, but bent. I am only guessing, but the fix would probably involve temporary internal bulkheads to help bring it back to the original shape. Lots of work in any case.
This is like Apollo 13, "Let's look at this thing from a... um, from a standpoint of status. What do we got on the spacecraft that's good?"
The door, (window and latch)
The kitchen window?
Front window?
The rock guard?
Frame and axle
Wheels
Converter
Furnace
Stove
Fridge, (and vents)
Tail Lights
Fibreglass wise, I am guessing that the upper kitchen cabinets have been damaged. The kitchen, closet, dinette and gaucho are probably OK. Any inside photos?

If your friend decides to part it out please contact me.. I'm very interested in some of the parts if they are somewhat easy to ship to the states, the last item I had shipped was a nightmare!!!!! But if I can't get them I'm sure there are several people on here from Canada that could use them!!
That L-400 door lock would probably be the first to go

yvano, The insurance company gave her the right price for her Trillium, but she has to let the Trillium to a specific person "as is". She didn't has the opportunity to take some parts on it. The insurance company probably sold the damage trailer for a reasonable price... End of story. My friend's now looking for a new one... Very hard to find.
