Bigfoot in the Snow

We went out to our rec property for a couple days last weekend. Lots of snow. My mom's 17' Bigfoot is parked out there, and had a wee bit of snow settled in on the top of it. My brother cleaned it off. It was absolutely gorgeous out there.

We all stayed in our cookhouse, not our trailers this trip.

Theresa, it is basically a 20x26 empty shell. There is a big old cook stove at the centre back, that we use for heating and cooking. We do have a small propane heater for overnight, and quick heat, as the wood stove only has a firebox that will last an hour or so, and it takes quite a while to heat up. But, when it does heat up, it keeps it warm even in the coldest of weather.

These shots are to the left as you enter, where we have it set up for eating. We just use a gen set whenever we want 120V electricity.

The other side we use for hanging out mostly, and it has a couple hide-a-beds. As we have mats as well to use for sleeping on. In the summer, my brothers and me, and most of our friends and family sleep int RVs or tents, but sometimes the cookhouse gets used too. In the winter though we do sleep in there whenever we are out.

Just ran across a copy of a redneck campfire we had out there.

LOL! This would be exactly why my father moved us from our native Toronto to upstate New York in 1956, & ultimately to California in 1962. All of us kids really missed the snow. My parents, not so much.

Gorgeous photos, very cozy-looking camp. Lucky you!
