How have you improved your Eggcamper?
Hello all,
I am picking up my Eggcamper next Friday, and would like to hear what others have done to improve their Eggcampers. Any improvement ideas big or small would be appreciated. Thanks, Ryan

Ryan,
Congratulations! We've had our EggCamper for several years and it's great.
Closet shelving is a good start. If you have the permanent bed version, underbed clothes storage is great. Here's a link to some of my mods: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...per-39851.html .
Another good mod is to replace the original roof vents with MaxxFans. They are very quiet.

Hi Ryan, welcome to FiberglassRV. I think you'll find a lot of creature comforts and modifications are doable no matter what the brand. For instance if you see something you like that was done in a Casita, check it out and see if you can apply or modifiy to suit your EggCamper needs.
Once again,

I installed a wood floor, added extra 12v and switched to all LED's and added more LED's, dual batteries and solar. Installed fan upgrade, reversed all the overhead cabinet to drop down, installed a Marinco external hookup and finally an awning.
This should keep you busy over the winter- don't forget a cover.

Ron, the shelves in the closet are great, I think that would be a great place for me to start. I also like the idea of the drawers in the kitchen area.
Donna ,you are absolutely right, I welcome any ideas and helpfull tricks
Jim, I think I will add an extra 12v outlet as well. Great idea!
Thanks to all for sharing your ideas. I can't wait to get my hands on my new trailer!

What awning did you get for the Egg? I did not know how to attach one.

what we have done to our eggcamper ... so far
we painted cabinets, added knobs, made new cushions and curtains, added 2 new fantastic vents, repaired sewer lines, reset sink, covered headboard, cleaned dog and cat hair out of every possible nook and cranny (PO and I am allergic), added magnetic knife holder, LED bulbs to replace in all light fixtures. still need to do some closet organizing and under bed storage solutions. i'm there will be more things I want to do as time rolls along. we are on our way from minnesota to florida to see if we can live in this small space and not kill each other. plus, i will be working from the camper (computer stuff).

Wow! That sure looks nice! Is that tile backsplash put right on the fiberglass? Your unit is much bigger than mine......

The PO added the tile. Yes he glued it right on to the fiberglass so I have to love it because I don't think I can change it!

Wow, that certainly is colorful, both inside and outside. How much weight do you carry on the back? My spare's weight was enough to break the welds on my Egg Camper and I had to have the bumper strengthened and welded.

Where
did you get those shelves above your sink? How about that magnetic strip? What type of runners or tape did you use for your curtains? Mine has the old rods and your look like they slide in tracks of some kind.

I should know this ( the weight ) but I don't. The PO added the rear cargo carrier and he claimed it would hold 300 pounds. The spare tire is in the cargo carrier on top of our car.
The shelves were added by the PO. He has them attached by command hooks. The magnetic knife holder is from Ikea. It is sitting on top of more command hooks added by PO. The knives on either side of the command hooks holds it in place. The curtain tracks/hardware are very cool. I learned this from another Egg owner on this web site. They are from Camping World and they are installed using the existing screws and holes in your windows. The sliders that attach to the fabric and then to the tracks are also from Camping World. I searched for them on the CW website and ordered everything on-line.

Hi Jill,
I purchased my Eggcamper Sept. 2011. Your PO John was kind enough to let me see the camper before I ordered one for myself. It was not for sale at that time. I drove down from Jacksonville to see for myself. Ordered one when I got back to Jax. Yours looks very nice. Keep having fun. Mine is also listed on this site.

Our most useful improvements have been shelves for the closet, bins above the sink, curtains and cushions, and making the table five inches longer. The longer table doesn't impede movement and really comes in handy. Except for the closet shelves my wife was resistant to every one of these improvements, but now agrees that they have all been helpful.
