Replacing Boler windows help

Hey everyone. Im about to install my new Sunview windows. but the inside flange seems to be wrong. When I dry fit the window, there is a gap between flange and the window. If I screw the flange in, there will be a good 1/8" - 1/4" gap. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Windows

Trevor:
Which windows are they. I have to replace my windows as well.
If you can post pics as well of your install that would be great.

Hello! We paid to have someone install the same Windows (he advertised on kijiji charging a hefty amount I must say) on our 1974 Boler and the seal isn't right! Water pools in the tracks and drips down the inside of the wall 🙄 We will have to completely remove them and put them back on ourselves since he won't reply to our messages. If you have any ideas why it may be doing that it would help so much! Did you have to install any additional seals or products to waterproof the Windows? The 2 Windows that leak are our dinette Windows. Thanks!

Is there any butyl tape between the window flange and the body?

Hi Jasmine,
I found when I was installing the two side dinette windows in my Boler I had to pay real close attention to make sure I could differentiate between Left and Right. Butyl Tape goes on the outside flange and the drain holes in the window frame have to face down (that is they are on the bottom edge not the top). Check to see if the drain holes are on the bottom of the outside of the window frame. If they are not then maybe the window frame is filling up with water and leaking in. The other thing to check is to see if any butyl tape (The sticky/gummy grey or black stuff) is squeezing out between the outside frame and the exterior of the trailer. I tried to be conservative in my use of butyl tape but I was still surprised with how much squished out even a week or two after installation.
Hope you solve your problem and find your answer, sorry about your luck.
Jay
